According to The Wells Fargo Money Study, released in February: more than half of respondents admit to having a love-hate relationship with money. This revelation sheds light on the prevailing taboo surrounding discussions about finances, fueled in part by a lack of financial literacy. In response, Wells Fargo and La Noticia are teaming up to launch a local initiative aimed at improving the Latino community's financial well-being with helpful information.
The Wells Fargo Money Study says that for most, talking about their personal finances is harder than talking about religion, politics or death. However, amidst these challenges, there is a silver lining. 80% of adults expressed a desire to learn new ways of thinking about money and dealing with it.
In celebration of its 27th anniversary, La Noticia is proud to announce a collaboration with Wells Fargo in launching the “Mi dinero y yo” (My Money and Me) project. This initiative aims to provide valuable financial information to the Latino community, empowering them to take steps towards greater financial independence.
“We are proud to help build stronger financial health with La Noticia and the Latino community,” said Rod Banks, Senior Community Relations Lead for Wells Fargo. “As the Bank of Doing, Wells Fargo takes action to put people and communities first. From making financial education and resources more accessible to empowering people to reach their financial goals, we look for ways to make communities stronger.”

Over the course of this three-year partnership, La Noticia will publish stories about financial education across various platforms, including print, lanoticia.com, newsletters, social media, and YouTube. These stories will be presented in a didactic and practical manner, reflecting La Noticia's commitment to quality journalism.
“We feel deeply honored by the support and trust of our community over the past 27 years,” said Hilda Gurdian, CEO of La Noticia. “We are equally grateful for the commitment of institutions like Wells Fargo, who share our belief that the Latino community deserves respectful and professional news coverage that addresses their needs.”
